Have you ever wanted to get to know professors and staff outside of the classroom? Are you interested in learning more about other classes, research opportunities and other areas of expertise? If so, join us once a month for an informal opportunity to interact with professors, staff, and alumni at a Lunch Box Talk.

Thinking Beyond Your Major - at this Lunch Box Talk session, we'll hear and share stories about getting involved on campus and explore opportunities to gain experience outside the classroom. Join us for an informal conversation with:


MARK KINGWELL is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Toronto and a contributing editor of Harper’s Magazine. His research interests include social and political theory; philosophy of art, architecture, and design; 20th-century continental philosophy. Mark is the author of seventeen books including his most recent work Fail Better: Why Baseball Matters.

SEAN CAFFREY is the Executive Director, Biozone at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering and obtained an MBA and a PhD in Microbial Functionality Genomics from the University of Calgary. He is also an accomplished photographer and his work can be seen in hundreds of publications including National Geographic and Lonely Planet. (www.seancaffrey.com & www.n-images.net).

IKEM OPARA is a former Program Manager and current Strategy Lead at the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Canada's largest grant making foundation. Ikem earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto and is a former athlete with the Varsity Blues football team.

ROSE LIN is a U of T alumni and the Student Life Coordinator, Campus Involvement at the University of Toronto. Rose currently oversees the Co-Curricular Record (CCR) where she helps students find opportunities to be involved on campus beyond the classroom.
